I forgot my password
on the sign-in screen, tap “forgot password?” and enter your email or handle. we’ll email you a code to set a new one. accounts made with Sign in with Apple don’t have a password - just sign in with Apple again.
how do I change my email or password?
your profile → settings (the gear) → “change email” or “change password”.
how do I make my profile or a walk private?
- profile: your profile → edit profile → private profile. then only followers you approve can see your routes and walks.
- a walk: choose “who can see this walk?” when you finish it, or later with “edit my walk”.
the app doesn’t know where I am
walking and making routes need location. on your iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → can i walk with you?. choose “while using the app”, or “always” so your walk keeps counting with the screen off. the app only follows your location while a walk or a route recording is going.
my steps aren’t counting
Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness → turn on can i walk with you?.
I’m not getting notifications
check they’re on in the app (your profile → settings → notifications) and on your iPhone (Settings → Notifications → can i walk with you?).
how do I report or block someone?
tap “⋯” on their post, walk, profile, route or comment, then choose report or block. reports come straight to us, and we review them within 24 hours. if 3 different people report the same thing, it’s hidden from everyone but the person who posted it until we’ve reviewed it. the person is never told who reported them.
how do I stop the walk club or “notify me” emails?
tap “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any of them - one tap and you’re off the list. you can also turn walk club emails off in the app: your profile → settings → walk club emails. to have a “notify me” email deleted, email hello@caniwalkwithyou.com.
how do I delete my account?
your profile → settings → delete account, then tap “continue” and type “delete”. our privacy policy explains exactly what’s removed and what’s kept.
where are the routes?
so far, routes are mostly in San Diego. make one where you are - someone might walk it.
something unsafe?
if you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number first. then tell us at hello@caniwalkwithyou.com, or report it in the app.
